What Blip collects

Blip is designed with privacy at its core. Here is what we collect and what we don't:

Audio recordings — stored only on your iPhone. Never uploaded to our servers.
Transcripts — generated on-device using Apple Speech Recognition. Never leave your phone.
No account required — Free tier works without creating an account or providing an email.

We have zero access to your Free-tier data. It lives on your device and nowhere else.

When you upgrade to Pro and opt into cloud sync:

Audio files — uploaded to Amazon S3, encrypted at rest (AES-256).
Transcripts — sent to OpenAI's Whisper API for server-side transcription. OpenAI does not use API data for training. See OpenAI's API data policy.
Account data — email, subscription status, webhook configuration.
Webhook payloads — if you configure a webhook, we send transcript + a signed audio URL to the endpoint you specify. We do not control or monitor your webhook destination.

Apple Speech Recognition (Free tier) — on-device, governed by Apple's privacy policy.
OpenAI Whisper API (Pro tier) — audio sent for transcription only. Not used for model training.
Amazon Web Services — cloud infrastructure for Pro tier storage and API endpoints.
Vercel — landing page hosting.

Free tier — data persists on your device until you delete it. We retain nothing.
Pro tier — data retained while your subscription is active. If you cancel, your data remains for 90 days, then is permanently deleted.
Waitlist emails — retained until launch, then deleted or converted to account emails with your consent.

You can request a full export or permanent deletion of your Pro-tier data at any time by emailing privacy@tapblip.com.

Blip is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

We may update this policy. Significant changes will be communicated via the app or email. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
